The Dragonfly Rustlers

Jesse and Rohana are the talented musicians behind the Dunedin based duo The Dragonfly Rustlers. Their covers and originals of folk and Americana music gave inspiration for the design of their album cover, it needed to represent what their music is; Feminine and romantic guitars with the right amount of vintage sound and poetic lyrics.

The classic watercolour and ink portraits are combined with the use of negative spaces to create a soft contrast between a more traditional approach and a simple and modern design solution.  The base for the illustrations mimics brown craft paper with the intention of giving the final piece a nostalgic and vintage look.
